The Theology & Practicalities Of Deliverance

The ministry of deliverance is not a modern innovation, nor is it reserved for a select group of specially gifted ministers. It is a vital expression of the Kingdom of God and an integral part of the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ. Throughout the Gospels, Christ proclaimed the Kingdom, healed the sick, and cast out demons, demonstrating the triumph of God’s reign over the kingdom of darkness (Matthew 4:23–24; Luke 4:18–19). He then commissioned His disciples to continue this work, declaring:

“In My name they will cast out demons…”— Mark 16:17 (NKJV)

Despite this clear biblical mandate, deliverance ministry has often been misunderstood, neglected, sensationalized, or practiced without adequate theological foundation. In some circles, every personal struggle is attributed to demonic activity, while in others, the existence and operation of demons are dismissed altogether. Both extremes fail to reflect the balanced teaching of Scripture.
This manual was written to restore biblical balance. Its purpose is not merely to teach methods of casting out demons, but to establish ministers and believers in a sound understanding of God’s Word concerning spiritual warfare, the authority of the believer, inner healing, repentance, holiness, and the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Genuine deliverance is not a spectacle, but a ministry of compassion that restores people to freedom, healing, and wholehearted devotion to Christ.
